Radio static when rear defroster turned on

Anyone else have this problem? We had a cool night the other night and I put on my defroster before I turned on my radio. When I turned the radio on, I got a TON of static. I know the antenna is in the rear window, but I didn't expect a problem like that. Anyone know a way to work around it?

I have the same problem, my dealer just ordered me a new rear window, says it's a known issue that the wiring of the antenna and rear defroster is poorly done.

My car is an 02 w/29K so it's a warranty for me.

Problem is one of the lines for the rear window defroster is broken- someone must have scratched it. When you turn it on, the radio antenna picks up the static from that. I seen it happen maaany times when they bring a car in for service with that complaint. It only happens if you have a window mounted antenna like our 5th gens do.

Well, that's good to know. I have an 01 with 32k on it, so I'll see if I can get my dealer to cover it. Thanks guys.
