My steering wheel shakes/shimmy now at 65 mph and higher. I am completely bone stock and i have 10k miles on her. What do you guys think is going on here. Wheels need balance, something up with the steering??? thanks

Re-balance all 4 tires. This should take care of it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I suppose this wouldnt be covered under my warrenty. Seems a little soon for a wheel balance. I know lately i have hit some decent size pot holes. Could that throw things off? Am i better off taking it to the dealer for the balance? I know of a place that specializes in high end auto's. They did a good job fixing my flat.

if you've hit some big potholes...could be a bent rim too. I bent one of mine on a pothole last winter....got the vibrationat high speeds....like you.

It could be the wheel's balancing like maximadave suggested or the front rotors are out-of-round/warped. Mine started to do this at ~15k. Dealer resurfaced the rotors and it went away... for 5k miles. Maxima rotors are well known for warping pretty easily.

I balance my wheels between 5000-7500 miles. My last set of Nitto NT555's lasted me 45K miles because of rebalancing them this way. Discount Tire has a lifetime balance warranty. Take advantage of it.

I have not had much luck with discount tire...i do not like their service very much. I dont think its the rotors. I have not had any problems with high speed braking. I dont get the judder that many people describe. Hey Irish, i was thinking the same thing, i really hope its not a bent rim. I dont feel like replacing a wheel. I suppose i'll start with a wheel balance and I'll have them check everything out. I think I'll bring it to a shop, because i know if i bring it to the dealer they will say there is nothing wrong. thanks fellas.

check ur tire pressure. getta gauge and live with it. if fine, go with balancing/alignment, they'll also check ur rim.
