BOSE -- is this normal?

I cannot search...

Not sure if this a well-reported Bose issue that other posted about or not.
My Left side on does not sound as loud as the right side on CD only. Radio works fine. Is it going to totally cut out soon or what?
Is there a fix or do you have to swap units?

Thanks,
SC

Yes, there is a TSB (technical service bulletin) for it. It is a known problem, it happened with me. I don't know how the dealer will handle it though. You're CD player will just randomly cut in and out on the left side, it shouldn't goout totally. annoying as hell though.

Print out the TSB and go to the dealer. I had to deal with this issue for almost 5 months. Every head unit the dealer installed would sound ok for a month and than just go bad.

hey, on a related note...

after seeing all these threads about the left side speaker go out, i was thinking about what had happened with me a few months ago when i installed my system. i was using the stock wires, and everything went fine, except the left side wouldn't work. i used new wires for the left front speaker and then it worked. im guessing it's faulty wiring and not the speaker itself.

Nissan did take care of this problem. But I do suggest printing out the TSB and give a copy to the service manager.

Called the dealer. told them that my left side cuts out and that I think there is a TSB on that. The manager (the guy to I usually deal with was out) said "Oh yea...it won't take us long to pinpoint"....made an appointment for Friday. Got a TSB printed out just in case.... I hope they just do it given it's a 2002. If not - I'll ask for goodwill.

Anyone have the link to that TSB?

I have had the same problem for over a year, and have already had it "fixed" four times. My car will be going back in Friday morning for the 5th time. My dealer has been very cooperative so far...hopefully no trouble this time. I am out of warranty by 10k, but they didnt seem to care the last time they tried to fix it.

My problem is with the rear speakers only. Sometimes they both work, sometimes only the right one works, and sometimes neither. I have to turn the fader all the way to the back and then turn it up as loud as it will go, and then the speakers will come on (about 75% of the time anyway). So annoying.

I just had the same problem, got a new head unit installed today.

Radio and tape worked fine out of the left side, but CDs were both lower volume and staticy/crackly-- not acceptable. It didn't cut out, it was just always like that. I first noticed it when I was listening to a CD where the lead vocals came only out of the left channel... both the front and rear left speakers were doing the same thing.

They tested it and said it was the head unit... replaced it free today under warranty and washed my car for free as well. Here's hoping the head unit lasts longer than a month...

The service manager appologized, shook his head .... told me he is going to order another one and call me ....
The thing is the little gate that protects the cd whole seems closed....maybe it just needs reseting somehow???
