THULE FAIRING FOR MAXIMAS (Attn: Irish as well as others)
Piece by piece I found the pieces to complete the roof rack for my new Maxima (following the legend of the old one )
Anyways all I have left is the fairing, Thule suggests the 872 Size Large which according to my research is 44" long. Irish I know you have the hook up or at least I think you do. Not a fan of the painted ones I've seen on your site but the new 872 is ugly on the Thule site as well (with the rubber things on both sides). The one I really like is the old one with the big Thule lettering on it, that or a custom one with Maxima or Nissan would be cool but I'm assuming impossable to find. Anyone that can offer advice please do so. Thanks

Yeah I agree the new fairings are kind of fugly....the one I use is 43" at the bottom and tapers to 40" at the top...I think it fits fine. I really don't recall what number it was though...and since they don't make it anymore it might be hard to find the one with the big "thule" - most of them had the little Thule....
anyhow, there are a couple of them on ebay right now, here's one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW
as to custom one....not sure I've ever seen that kind (though I'm sure you could take it to one of those places that does airbrush artwork on cars (like on the tailgates of pickups) and have them put a nissan logo on it...
as for me, you can see I did my own custom work on it with regular dupli-color spraypaints (and my bike rails and feet are painted gloss black with clearcoat also)....I repaint the fairing every year for a new look (actually I have a "summer fairing" with my bike stickers (the one below) and a winter fairing with ski/snowboard stickers on it (which I am about to repaint soon)..
another option that my buddy did to his fairing was just paint the whole thing gloss black with clearcoat so it blends into the car....you coudl always buy a big Thule sticker and put it on there. Anyhow, hope that helps....
oh btw trexmax....be sure to get the "velo vise" fork-mount bike rails...they are the best (I have the older fork-mount racks on mine)...fork-mount holds the bike MUCH more securely than the stand-up racks (where you leave the front wheel on)
