DDE Issue

Do you guys have any issues with any one of your eyes not lighting up completely? One of my rings are pretty dim, and when I mess with the part of the wire that is coming out of the back of the headlight housing it flickers. So I'm sure power circulation is being cut off somewhere around that area where the cap locks in, but would any of you have an easy fix for this?

Preesh,
P

It should come the same brightness after the car is started. There are some cold start issues that have been mentioned by Matt of Umnitza.

Thanks for the info. Ya I read that on Matt's site, but if I fiddle with the wire where it is pinched through the cap it flickers. I'm thinking that might be the issue. Plus I was running them tonight for about an hour of driving, cut the car off went in the store and came out and saw it like that cause i was parked in front of a window, and it was fine when i turned them off. Hummm.....nice ride by the way!!

Did you screw the dust cap on top of the wires from the rings? You might have damaged the wires somehow, but I don't think this would affect what you're talking about. I drilled 4 small holes on the underside of each headlight to avoid trying to squeeze them out throught the dust cap. I stuff all 4 wires from the rings through their own hole and put some silicone around them to make sure no water got in through those holes.

^ that's actually a good idea.

i just wrapped the wires with a little duct tape right where the cap would pinch them, then put the cap on as best possible. about half of the cap is actually screwed in but it completely covers the hole. if the lights flicker when you touch the wire it sounds like you may have one that's been partially torn/cut.

Yeah I wasn't about to do that because I knew that was going to happen. Like I said.... I just stuck each wire through it's own hole and soldered to the ballast.
Cap is completely close and I have nothing to worry about with water getting in there.

thanks guys, i was thinking about drilling the holes before but i figured this route would leave minor blemishes or imperfections, but i'm having second thoughts, especially since this sounds to be my best move......preciate the assist!

I had that issue and what stopped it was HARD WIRING the wires and cutting off the lil aligator connectors.
