Hopefully i'll get alot of answers here, because I'm asking a lot of questions. For starters, I have a fully loaded Black 97 SE that im selling (to cancel out my loan).

First off, I must keep my payment very close to 400 a month. I also want a NEW car, am I better off getting a 2001? or getting a 2000, whats the price difference?

Second, lets say I plan on keeping the car for only 4 years, is it better to lease or to buy?

Third, lets say I intend on actually purchasing the car for a long time, is it better to finance, or is it better to actually lease for 3/4 years then buy it once the lease is over for the reduced price?

What should i expect to pay monthly on a fully loaded 2000 SE lease, and on a 2000 SE fully loaded finance? And the same for 2001's..

A nearby dealer said he'd sell me a fully loaded 2000 SE for $26,500 is that good or bad? The sticker is 3 grand higher. And would printing out offers from other dealers online and bringing them to my local dealers be affective if i find a cheap price?

Thanks and sorry for all the questions, I really want a 5th gen!! And would much rather take advise from all of you than some ****ty dealer out for my wallet. Thanks again!! ~~Nine7Max

This is what I did

Get as much information that you can get your hands on....I had about 20 pieces of paper of **** I copied off the internet. The dealer must have thought I was an idiot....but I got to see every number they had on the car...Also....tell your insurance man that you are looking at a particular car.... If you search you can get the invoice cost on the different options that come on the car.

I traded my car in....did they tell you what they would give for your car?

I was able to get 6.9 through nissan...I am pretty happy with that rate....I could only get 8.99 through the last lender....I saved some pretty good cash on that.

I got my 2000 se 5 sp Comf and Con pack black leather bose for 25,000.

If you can get a 2001 non anniv for 3000 off the sticker then do it... Order it the way you want it!

Read...?

First of all... how much do you want for ur SE?
(looking...)
well actually thats it
oh and...
Negotiate the price... then once u have the lowest u can get... SIGNED so they cant back up...
TELL them to remove the
$300 current Nissan advertising fee (built into MSRP)
Also have them subtract 3% of total invoice price (that is nissans factory to dealer holdback as of now)

and read fine print... if theres a prep fee make em take it off... cuz the factory pays them to prep it... doesnt need to be paid twice

oh hell... also if u want the consumer reports Y2K max price service report ($12) lemme know... I'll email u it in Word format... I bought it a few weeks ago

It all boils down to how much you drive. 12K a year is NOT A WHOLE LOT. Most of us commute a long way, or love to drive. Nissan's slogan of "Driven" doesn't apply to "Leasing"

Imagine no long distant trips in that nice shiny new Maxima. I've had my car since 8/18 and if I had leased her, I'd have to stop driving her in November heh heh heh. In my opinion its worth the expense to buy. Hell, you might even find a great used one. Look around.
