If you have an auto it does absolutley nothing except remove the rev limiter. I am speaking from experience and dynos on my own vehicle. Your better off saving money and getting an AEPXi SAFC II. As for manuals I beleive its a different story and that it has been dyno proven...but I am not sure.

It just seems like nissan is following the lead of some other manufacturers, and really handcuffing the aftermarket. The dodge people are pretty upset about the inability to get more horsepower out of the 04 Hemis. Apparently (sp) dodge made it really difficult after the first model year of the engine. . .

i have the chip and love it. it seems to make my car run smoother. I think the chip has no effect if u have headers. People didnt see any gains with headers. however in my case since i dont have header i saw gains. anyways once i get headers im going to go to TS and get a new program made. They cant make new maps because they dont have any test cars. I guess ill be the first. but the chip has a 7200 rev for me i gain hp. do a search there has been many threads

krmaxima - Did you ever dyno your car to provide some proof of the gains you estimate?

hmm...

this mod is somewhat down the road for me, possibly by next spring. I really hope they get the custom header version of the software done up by then. I appreciate you going out and doing this, good for all of us : ]

when i was at TS for the ECU testing for the 2k-2k1's.... they told me that the 2k2-2k3 maxima headers program might be scrapped. They informed me that owners are having extremely unrealistic hp/tq demands for the TS header program, only caring for max hp/tq and not power made under the curve. you should call Danny and convince him otherwise

Here are my results. Make sure you read the whole thing becuase it gets kinda complicated. They tuned the ECU for catback+intake and the first dyno I did without the intake so the A/F is not optimal. When I put the K&N GAB back on it gave some real good gains and gave a batter A/F ratio(dyno in same thread).

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=299890

The peak numbers are not incredible but check this out... my torque peak before the ECU was 226.11@3500rpm SAE. After the TS ECU I gained so much torque in the 4000rpm area it gave a new torque peak 237.56@4300rpm SAE as well as boosted the old torque peak up to 236.01. The TS ECU is a good mod (A little more expensive than I think it is worth) but the way I would have went knowing what I know now is L-spec TS ECU and SAFC-II or that piggyback that altima used. You could get this package whenever you want then dyno tune it whenever you want.

KRmaxima, not trying to rain on your parade but your torque number is actually about 224wtq. The dyno reads 245.0 becuase it recorded the 2-3 shift. Also your A/F ratios look a little too rich. You could probably get some more power out of it if it were optimized.

Manual. You can always tell whether a car is manual or auto by the dyno. A manual can start pretty much anywhere in the rpm range but usually 2-3k. An auto has to start at the rpm that the engine drops to when it shifts at WOT, usually in the 3.5-4.5 range. However that new autostick stuff can start anywhere too so it gets ambiguous there. But, since the 5.5gen maxima didnt come with that option it easy to tell.

I didnt see your dyno I was just wondering becuase it sounds like you got gains form the ecu..but you are manual an I know that it works for manual...I have set to see one positive dyno for an auto with tth TS ECU including myself.
