Installed Y-pipe On 2000 Max

Hey!

I Just thought id share my thoughts on the Y-Pipe i had just installed on a 2000 Maxima Auto CALI SPEC. Budget Y-Pipe

The First thing i noticed was it was kindof a pain in the *** to get the stock pre-cat Y Pipe off ...especially when the exhaust is 1000 degrees ... Also my car already had a magnaflow muffler and a B-pipe with no Resonator... after we fired the car up the exhaust was ALOT louder ...(on my previous 97 maxima a had a flowmaster muffler , b-pipe, test pipe, and a y-pipe, that wasnt near as loud as my 2000 is.) from inside the car it sounds like my friends 3.4L Tayota Tacoma with an exhaust dump. I personally dont like the sound and at 1st i thought i had an exhaust leak but everything was tight and secure.. so after driving around a bit, i instantly felt a power increase after 3k RPM but it was more noticeable from 5k to Redline i dont know if it was the variable intake and the y-pipe working together but my car reved quickly and i was very impressed with the Power!

Other than the Exhaust Note (I personally dont like some might) It is well worth the $$

Im going back to the exhaust shop where i put the y-pipe on, and putting on my stock muffler back on.. i know alot of .ORG people are running this way, hopefully this will tone down the exhaust note some!
Any input on this setup would be appriciated

I was running Greddy Evo cattback, few months after getting Cattman y-pipe, I kept the greddy b-pipe, did away with the rear section and went back to stock muffler with some subtle chrome tips. By itself the exhaust didn't sound bad, but I couldnt get past the drone once the y-pipe was installed. Once the stock muffler went back on, its been great, almost felt like driving a new car.

I have a custom cat back and the budget y-pipe. I love the sound I get from it.
