Most of the 240's I've seen have the SR20DE motor in it. Fitting a 3.5 liter motor into a car that should only have a 4 banger would create major handling problems I think. It'd be cool though. And if yuo wanna make a project out of it, good luck...

Im pretty sure u can fit that vq35de ur just gonna need a new way 2 mount the motor and the tranny.....240 have 4 bangers but if u open the hood u can take a nap in there cuz theres alot of unused space......o ya and suspension

if they can throw a heaveir RB motor in there the Vq weights less and shouldn't be a problem in the weight sense.

Now I'd give up my motor if I could have an RB26DETT in exchange... But imagine dealing with the AWD drivetrain... Still would be pretty sick though.

240 and rb26 2gether are a waste of money.....1 ur not gonna make the 240 awd.....2 theres like a 3 grand difference between rb25 and rb26, ive never seen a rb26 in a 240 and if u see 1, that was the biggest waste of money.

I've seen much more expensive engines in a 240. There's one with a VK Nissan V8 with twin turbos. Ground up project. The $ wasted is just your opinion. I've seen people but dohc heads on the stock L series blocks. The head alone is $10 grand. Gotta pay to play. The RB26 would be a nice choice as the stock engine is also an inline 6. As would a SupraTT engine. Getting a RWD only tranny to bolt up the RB would not be a big problem.

A VQ3.5 would also be a nice install in a 240sx provided it fit. Weight is probably not an issue. As the KA iron block is heavy as hell and the VQ all aluminum engine is 100lbs lighter than the iron blocked VE30DE (3-gen dohc engine) 260hp na in a 240sx would be pretty nasty. The torque would make this a monster. Not at "glamorous" as a sr20DET swap but the pull from a dig would be amazing.
