hey yongjun....

does that grand am have traction control? my friend has a 1999 grand am gt, its not even fully loaded, and that POS has traction control. pisses me off, my car was $23k, and his was WAY below that, and he has it and i dont. kinda sux, but at least my cars faster, looks better in and out(IMHO).

Re: hey yongjun....

Well I raced a 97 se auto the other day and i took him by a car.
Yes it does have traction control. 3.4 liter engine.
The auto shift to 1 2 and 3 then to D.
The stereo system is really really nice.

The GA is nice overall. Build quality is nice and such. Really really comparable overall.

Did I mention the huge engine bay that you can easily drop a S/C

build quality...

seemed good on my friends 99 grand am gt, and the stereo is nice, but i REALLY hate the interior. the seats look funky, the dash really makes me want to gag. the exterior is OK, i'd rather have the plain camry styling. but his car has more of a se ride, kinda noisy at high speeds, but that sucker hugs the road like a b****. jongjun, have you tried to screech the tires? my friend tried to, but his damn grand am wont let him, we were at a stop light, when it turned green, he smashed the pedal, the car went forward, and the only noise was from the engine, trac. control was off. i found it wierd, even during turns, no screeching. thats why he likes my max, makes nice sounds at WOT.

jongjun? hehehehe

well it wouldn't do a burnout..
But sx7r and brokenmotor did do some nice donuts in it

the only thing i don't like about the dash is the funky read guages.
everything on that car is red.

but seriously build quality is good.

I think they all come with traction control. Its somehow hardwired to the ABS. Hey YJ, at least you have to admit when the dials go to test mode (when the all max out)upon start up is cool. Wish the max did that.

Re: Re: WTF??

When you compare the two cars they are really close.
Who cares if its a domestic?
Have you ever driven one?
Go drive a 2001 Grand Am se fully loaded and tell me what you think.

No, but I have driven a 96 Grand Am...and it's about to fall apart with only 70000 miles on it. And no, they are not even close at all when it comes to performance...we biuld excitement my a$$. I'd say those are some pretty important differences!!!! I'm sure I wouldn't mind driving the Grand Am, but there's definitely some very good reasons myself and everyone else on this board chose a Maxima over one!!!

Exterior styling on the Grand Am is poo and so is the reliability probably... but that doesn't mean it can't be fast while it's actually running
