Cost of MAF Sensor?

I just had my MAF sensor replaced yesterday at a Nissan dealer. Fortunately it was covered under my extended warranty and only cost me the $100 deductable.

My question is, how much do these MAF sensors really cost? My dealer's charge was $621 including tax, labor ($85)and part. I believe the part was $488. But just in case it wasn't covered under the warranty, I had priced the part from Courtesy Nissan at $89.50. Is my dealer ripping off the warranty company and possibly customers with no warranty?

I mentioned the cost of the part to the service advisor compared to Courtesy's price and her only response was that she had seen Courtesy's prices on the web and that perhaps they were "Black Market parts". Her words, not mine.

you were charged for the entire maf assembly instead of the actual part you needed. is your dealer ripping you off? probably not. most of them just don't know any better.

The entire MAF assembly can be bought for approx $88. I replaced mine a couple of months ago here.

DAVEB's number for OEM parts is
888-254-6060 and his email is daveb@adpub.com.

That makes more sense. Although it is still way overpriced. If it wasn't for the warranty, i'd have done the work myself. I had already diagnosed it for them. Either way, it looks like it would still have cost me ~$100. I always know when I've got a question were to go.

Thanks for the replys.
