Factory CD Changer for 00-01
#5
I bought the factory Nissan CD Changer a couple months ago for my 2001 GLE. You do need a factory radio that has the "CD/CHR" button.
Our cars are NOT pre-wired, but the CD Changer comes as a kit and was very easy to install. In the kit is the wiring harness, misc. mounting bolts, mounting bracket, instructions and a template on where to drill and mount.
I have mine mounted in the trunk. It's vertical on the floor on the drivers side. You do have to remove your factory stereo to plug the changer wiring harness into the back of the radio. The existing wiring harness plugs into the changer harness so that your steering wheel controls now control the changer as well as the factory radio.
Hope that answers your questions.
I got mine from: http://www.nissandealer.com/jerry-ro..._home_page.cgi and used the promo code MAXIMA.

I was wondering: I just bought one of these, but I'm a little confused as to where some of the plugs go. The harness end that goes to the radio has (4) plugs. The obvious one is the one going to the rasio itself, but the other three, I;m a little confused. I think the twelve-pin plug goes to the power mirror plug, but the 4-pin and the 2-pin have nowhere to go. Any help??? would be greatly appreciated.
