I'm getting quoted $650 for a MAF sensor? I might as well sell the car rather than repair this problem.

You're being lied to. They cost less than $100

I did some digging and found one for $100 online. The cost to install it and reprogram the ECU from a different local dealer is quite affordable. If I install it myself and then get the reprogram done, then its even cheaper. I haven't determined yet if I can replace then reprogram or if I should do both near the same time.

Yeah, I was quoted $580 for one. Bought it from DAVEB at Southpoint Nissan in Austin. Landed price was $145 CAD. Post in the Canadian forum for questions that have geographic implications.

Here's my experience with MAF replacement. My real-world experience was totally different than most of what I read on these forums. It makes me think my 00 GLE must be "special" somehow.

An additional note: the electrical connector will not release unless you press down with a small straight-blade screwdriver at the location marked with a small arrow. When re-connecting, press it down again in the same spot to "re-latch".

Best of luck.
