Replacement Battery

Sears works fine. However, my unscientific comparisons over time seem to show that comparing batteries for about the same cost, Interstate batteries last a bit longer than Sears.
Hint. Don't buy "maintenance free" batteries. They don't last as long as the old fashioned kind as long as you check and top them up with distilled water every 3-4 months.
This hint doesn't necessarily apply to some of the new spiral or glass mat designs like Optima. I've got a glass mat kind that came as OEM in my '00 Miata and owners swear that these can last 10 years or more but it's critcal that they are charged slowly. A fast charge will fry them.

Sears DieHard Gold Series
Can't beat their warranty either. Any problems within 5 years, just walk in with the battery and receipt and grab a new one off the shelf. No questions asked! I swapped out my stock battery about a month ago and paid around $70 for the Gold Series. Very happy with it. Optimas are good batteries too, but almost double the price. They're good if you're running a heavy-duty sound system and a lot of electrical stuff.

You would get moer cranking amps out of a interstate battery. I used to be a diehard Gold fan but after I read up on Interstate, I had to go. Well Its not for my car. But thats all I recommend to anyone. If I did not have a 1000 watt stero I would have an Interstate Battery. For now im with Optima.
