Should I buy a 6th Gen? Opinions Needed!

To make a long story short after spending the better part of a year making my car what it is now. 10k + spent on mods (mostly wheels been through 3 sets) I'm thinking of buying a new car. My local Nissan dealership just traded an 04 SE with all options including Navi, Blue on Tan leather. Out the door price is $20,470. That doesn't include me trading my car. Ok so my point is...is it worth the trouble of parting out my car taking a loss on it and then starting over on the 04? I'll probably only end up keeping it for another year or two. In the end I can make up my own mind but it would be nice to hear from you guys. Be honest if I'm a dumbass just call me one its cool.

Edit: I think I should also add that I'm not looking for a new car and an 04 Max wouldn't be my top choice if I was. Its just a good price on a very nice car.

That's a sweet deal, all I have to say. Just go drive that 6th gen and think about what makes you happier: your current Max's performance and the way it's turning heads everywhere, or the latest model that's just one of many but that has all the bells and whistles that your Max doesn't. Then think about insurance and payments and how much the 6th gen is going to affect them. Parting out your Max will cost a lot of time and just as much effort as it took to build it to what it is now. At the end of the day, it's not us that you should listen to, it's your car and only your opinion should matter.

$20K OTD is a sweet deal. But.... I think your current car is too nice to trade in now. You've put work into the thing, might as well enjoy it for a few more years.

if you are only going to keep it a year or 2 I see NO point in doing it. keep your ride.

Hamy,
this is my fault, isn't it? If you do the swap, you better get a damn good deal on your '02. I just can't fathom you guys tradin cars every couple years. I bought mine with intentions of keeping it for 20 years. I'm sure I'll see something else down the road. Maybe I'll have 2 cars then, but this Max is staying. Ask Brenner what they would give you for an '02 then ask about yours. You might be better off parting it out to orgers. You know you had the hottest 5th gen at the meet. Let me know when you wanna go downtown hbg or something.

Justin this really is all your fault. Looking at the back of that thing for 1.5 hours really got me thinking. Then to top that off the silver one at the meet was just unreal. Anyhow i'll have to think about it. What I'll get for a trade on mine is just crap. They will probably end up giving me 10k or something. Who knows. Thanks for the input everyone.

I'll have to agree with what most have said. Keep it....one of the nicest Maximas around. Everything looks like it was very well done. But especially if you say you might just get the 04 and get rid of it an year or so anyway....even though the deal sounds good.

You are a dumbass for spending that much on wheels (had to say it). As far as the car, you will lose no matter what so it just comes down to what do you want to do. I would just go with what will make me happy and keep me happy the longest.

Hamy, You probably dont give a crap about what I have to say, but honestly I hated the 6th gen.. But it seems the more I see it, the more I fall in love with it. The same thing will happen to you. Im the type of person that gets used to one car and wants another one... If you are like me then you will like the 6th gen... GO drive one and just take it for a spin...

The appeal of a new(er) car I'm sure is great, but your current car is without a doubt one of the best 5th gen versions on this entire forum. If it comes down to you being tired of your car and ready to move on from everything you've done to it, then go for the 6th gen. Good luck with your decision (glad I'm not making it)
