how do i rewire foglights to come on just by themselves?

2000 max gle auto... what if i just want the fog lights by themselves when i flick the switch instead of having them turn on when i turn the headlights on... the turn signal switch contains: the turn signal, the headlight and the fog light, parking lights. just as you turn the headlight to turn it on, right beside it you have to turn the switch up to turn the fog lights on. what do i need to wire to have them come on without the parking lights or headlights? do i have to bypass a connection or somethin? thanx for replies guys.

Don't flame guys!

Edit: BTW, if you plan on becoming a frequent member of the .org you can donate anywhere from $20 and gain the search feature. It is by no means required but something you might want to consider.

Whoops, my bad, I should have read that more clearly. I have no idea how to do that nor why you would want to.

you would have to wire an individual switch to the fogs......by the way, fogs on without the parking lights is illegal.

I followed most of the directions on the normal mod but instead of wiring to the parks, I wired it to the hot wire of the AC - they work only when the car is on (don't worry, it won't mess with your AC or anything and you never leave them on; you don't have to have the AC fan on for them to work, either)

basically just follow housecors instructions, but instead of tapping into the parking light wires, you would do what dthol said and tap into the AC wires...or something else in that fuse box, that always has power going to it. you would need to either follow the wires tho, or find out which in there do what. just be careful.

Now that I think of it, Xplosiv is right - that is what I did. I ran a wire on my 98, though, and it worked fine. to find out which one is hot, just test all of the wires for the AC with a tester...

well, that's what you said to xplosive before (as i just noticed) you edited it out.

either way, what are you thinking? every mod is NOT illegal...cone air intake, lowering your car, short throw shifter...shall i go on?

xplosive, i hope you find what you're looking for.

what in gods name are u talking about me editing something? I didnt edit anything?

Those mods ARE in fact illegal. You can have a police officer issue u a ticket and repair order for each of those mods u just mentioned.

Thanks...now please drive-thru
