Opinions are welcome....opinions with pictures and/or stories are preferred.

Or...just vote in my pole and get on with your day.

I'm leaning towards the Platinums and Raybrig Streets since they are both legal. I'm just curious how much more I will like the Metals.

How bad will it look it I replace the H4's but don't replace the turn signals?

Another thing...are the PIAA Super Plasma legal? In this country that is?

yes.

Raybrigs
Magnum whites: white at the edges but with a yellow center
Magnum whites: like he said. still very nice and bright.
Street whites: whiter than stock, but not that noticeable.
--considering researching on the new White Thunders. i have no clue about them. care to be the guinea pig and try?

if you want to see an example of the MetalWhites, look on my sig. there's a link, but the new system doesn't allow HTML so you have to copy-paste the img links.

i think it looks fine. the contrast sometimes actually makes the white look whiter, if you know what i mean.

oh, another thing, i'm starting a mini-group deal with the Raybrig USA rep, if you're interested. i have a couple people going on it already. let me know. i'll try to get it up by the end of the week. email me if you're interested.

No thoughts on PIAA then?

I see the Super Plasma and Xtreme White PIAA H4s too.

I'm not too concerned about getting the "best for the money." I just want the best. The only reason I'm leaning away from the HID is that I lose hi-beams.

Thanks for the comments. Sounds like there are a lot of fans of the Raybrig Metals.

I have the Xtreme Whites for my fogs... they're slightly brighter, but you won't notice a difference if you don't have the two on your car.

Power ratings

What is the rating for the Maxima headlight bulbs? Is it 65/55? Is that 65 for the low beam and 55 for the high beam????

I can't find anything on the White Thunder other than a quick description which says they are the newest. The output on them is rated at 135/125. They've got to be bright as hell. I, accidently, found one pair of them at a local performance shop. I picked them up just for the hell of it. What's the deal? Okay to install? They are rated at 60/55->135/125.

I'm assuming these are pretty illegal.

Check out www.autobulbdepot.com.....PIAA's at discount prices and 10.00 for two day delivery. I have Super Plasmas and they are more focused than factory lights and purple in color, not fake blue!!! Regular headlights appear brighter when in truth they just spread light beam farther. The new Xtreme Whites will be closet to HID when released in two-three weeks. Our other car has the PIAA Platniums and they are clear or colorless looking, definitely bright but nothing unique.

Read about them...

I saw the Xtreme Whites info on PIAA's web site. Looks like they are PIAAs answer to the Raybrig White Thunder. I'm going to install the White Thunders and see how they look. I might buy a set of Xtreme Whites when they come out too...just for kicks. I can probably sell the ones I don't like to somebody.

Any comments on this setup: I am thinking of getting the Raybrig Metal whites for my headlights. Would Philips BV H3's fogs look good with those? I have heard that the Philip BV H3 output is noticebaly brighter over the stock fogs and that the difference is not so great with the H4 BV's versus stock......

Except I am going to put the Raybrig White Thunders in the headlights with the Philips BV H3 in the fogs. I'm not quite as keen on changing the fogs thought just because it will mean removing the front piece of my body kit (I think) and the undercarriage.

for more info on White Thunders, check the raybrigusa site
http://www.raybrigusa.com/html/hhs_3...hite%20thunder

there it says that it's 55/60 so you're pretty safe. the "output" that all brands talk about is the preceived wattage, not the actual--usually refers to color temperature what not. it serves as a sort of a guide, but take it with a grain of salt.

here's a couple of places to read about what i'm talking about.

http://lighting.mbz.org/tech/info/bulbs/

and

http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=102

after testing the PIAA Superwhites, PIAA Super Plasmas, and Raybrig Metal Whites, i'd have to say that the Metal Whites are the better of the three. perhaps the White Thunders or Magnum Whites are better? we have yet to find out.. no one to my knowledge has them.

GROUP DEAL INFO

i just posted this on the Group Deal Forum.

Whoever's interested, post it on the GB Forum

here's an email i sent and reply from the Raybrig USA Rep.

If you have a daytime number where I can reach you, I can call you from work
and discuss this more with you.

I'm really sorry to hear about your experience with the Fake Raybrig lights.
I am very interested in finding out more about this, and I will definitely
pass on more information regarding this. Perhaps you can send me details of
where you purchased them, and how you determined their fraudulence.

Regarding the groupbuy, I'd like to talk to you over the phone about that.
If you are interested in advertising for Raybrig, I'm sure there is
something we can work out, compensation $ perhaps.

Thanks for the email, its really nice to get feedback!

Subject: re: Raybrig quote and possible Group Buy?

Hey Zubin,

i hope that things are well with you.

remember those Raybrigs i was all confused about? well, i was looking at the
packaging and they turned out to be fakes. pretty nice job, tho. if i didn't
have real ones (thanks) i would not have noticed a thing. my first suspicion
was when you told me that Raybrigs don't come in 100/110w. i got screwed on
eBay, so it seems. is there any way to report this info to Raybrig Japan or
something? i'm willing to send you a sample if you want to prosecute or
something like that. let me know?

oh, the quote, yes. here's mine, i guess.
"Raybrigs are the best headlights i've ever used! the output is great and
the quality is unprecedented!"
(does that work? if you don't like it, (hahah) it's cool. no biggie.)

okay, now to the group deal/buy. i have a few guys around me as well as the
Maxima.org forums that are interested in getting some lights from you. what
kind of deal can you give them? i think i have up to 10 buyers by now.
thanks!

sorry, another thing. what's the deal with the new White Lightnings? how's
their output, etc? since they're so new, i haven't heard anything around
from people.

okay... last thing. (can't you tell i LOVE Raybrigs?) yeah, so if you need
help advertising, i would be more than glad to help ya out!

take care,
-alex.
