i have a gxe with leather seats installed as a dealer option. however, upon further inspection we have noticed that some of the leather is vinyl. (like the door panel pieces, and some of the other non-seating surfaces. I have a feeling that after charging me nissan invoice price for leather seats, they went ahead and got the cheapest stuff they could find locally. so cheap in fact that it ain't all leather.
does anyone have any advice on how to apporach this situation with the dealer?
anyone know of similar experience?

The seats were installed under the dealers supervision, and the whole thing was financed together with nmac.

I don't think the dealer tried to deceive you, on the factory-installed leather seats only the seating surfaces are real leather, the rest is vinyl.

The door panel inserts are listed as being "simulated leather". mregenst is absolutely correct. Peace.

I've noticed it too, so it's normal like everyone else says, but I was skeptical about it too, until I saw that my friend's accord was contructed in the same way.

I have the same thing, but don't feel bad some of the higher end luxury cars do the same thing. BTW, where did you buy it?

The boys are correct, for a measly ~$1,000 we get minimal leather. If you want leather everywhere it can be done,
starting at ~$70k+ for cars like BMW, Jags, and even they may skimp.
For true all leather you need to get Rolls Royce, Bentley,
Ferrari, Porsche, etc, for $100k +++.
I had an 81 Ferrari 308 and the seats were all leather, and the visors were to, but the door panels, and dash were good imitations and that car was $55k in 1981 when new.
