i have a 2k se with 48700 on it. i am experiencing the pinging like crazy. is yhere a way to get the dealer to perform the repairs for the coils under powertrain warrenty??????? the car does not act up all the time but has gotten worse, i use 93 octane. detonation is very bad on engine. i need fixed now. i would like dealer to foot the bill. any help or ideas on how to get them to do this will be appreciated.

Is this a coils problem or is this a knock sensor problem?

if u can prove that it is the coils.... If they end up saying they will charge you to do it, youre much better off buying the coils yourself and changing them.

i agree with aussie983 it wont take long at all just be careful not to drop the 10 mm bolts that hold the coils in.......aweful.

easy to do, VERY easy, dealer will NOT replace under powertrain warranty(at least mine didn't and a few others I called) your owners manual tells you how to remove them under changing sparkplugs
