Some HID conversion questions...

I've read quite a bit of FAQs here, the one that interested me was the conversion from a 2000 Headlight assembly to the 2002/3 HID assembly. however when I click on the website it was linked to with the how-to the page isn't up anymore.

So I was simply wondering what parts are needed to convert a non HID headlamp 5th gen Maxima to the OEM HID headlamps froma 2002/3 Maxima? Somehow I doubt they just bolt right in and wire right up, but I planon buying a 2000-2001 Maxima for college (cant really afford anything newer) and would like to have the HIDs and a few other mods.

Thanks in Advance.

if you can prove they weren't stolen, you will get help here. not saying that you will steal them, but if you buy used ones from ebay etc that look fishy, no one will help you. hid theft has been a big problem, and has happenend to a lot of orgers..

Especially with one post and trying to sell a car in your profile.

Riiiiight. I'm planning on buying an 00 with about 70-85k for approx 10k for college because thats what I can afford. I bought my GTI new and owe about 17k on it yet and cant afford the payment so I'm selling it. Glad that's awfully suspect... Like I'm sure others havent sold more expensive cars for college and bought less epxensive ones.

ANYWAYS .... My friend works at the local Nissan dealer and can get parts for 20% off so I was planning on buying them from him... but he's a sales guy and knows nothing about the conversion so I can't get parts numbers or any info from him ... hence why I came here.

No, but you come in asking a very sensitive question, have one post and are selling a car.

Isn't there a conflict of getting the high beams to work when upgrading to 5.5 HIDs?

Why would there be? You just have to re-route/tap into the high beam wire.

So this issue (bottom of the page) has been fixed?

Oh yeah, dude. But that issue isn't about fitting OEM 2002/03 HIDs. It's about fitting a standard HID kit. A standard HID kit will make you lose your high beam. But that's what a bi-xenon kit is for. =D

No. I'm not going to buy them if this won't even work. Thats a pointless waste of money.

I cant believe this... I ask a question and get called a thief. I feel so welcome here

Look I'm sure that you guys get ticked about people getting headlights ripped off ... I would be too, but I think it's pretty beat to come to a forum thinking it'll be like the other forums one visits and get called a thief.
