I hate the back of it. But I love the rims (they look heavy as sin, though) and I dig the front.

Honestly the only thing I like about it is the grille and maybe the seats...

Just a thread to post this ride. get some opinions and such (BTW thanks for posting the pics) I think It resemblems a toyota way too much. back looks alot like the avalon. Not my brand of Vodka. and i must agree. the rims and grill are decent. And ya they look way heavy. Glad to be in the u.s. to expereince "there 6th gen" except the japenese "no governer" idea is appealing. ill take the 6th we have anyday? agree????? BTW Polo, I think "your' ride looks hella clean. God, that is ugly. Unless Nissan does a U-turn with their stupid styling recently, I will not be getting another Maxima....Guess it's time to go back to Acura, where they have the styling going in the RIGHT direction. This thing looks like a Passat and a 1st-gen Altima have been breeding...

That thing is hideous. They should have saved the grandpa-like styling for the Altima and kept the Maxima as a 4DSC. Too bad that day is done and gone.

to me though, it just looks terrible. inside very luxurios but whats up with "no audio controls on the steering wheel" if thats true for us then whats the deal?
anyway, STILL think the 5 gen and the 4gen are the best looking cars from nissan '.'

If they start changing the maxima to look like that, my next Nissan might be an Altima.

You're not considering this for your dream garage, are you? Now it's getting all the attention with its SE-R version, and the new Altima sports hybrid that's coming out in a couple of years. Funny how far it got given the fact that it was the most mundane 4-banger out there just 3 years ago.

SE-R, is out huh. I'll have to look into that. 6th Gen U.S. Looks solid, and worthy of displaying the maxima name. That thing doesnt. If this continues, its gonna be hello..... 350-z!

No, M45 is not based on that platform. Aussie Maxima is based on the same platform as our 6th gen and 3rd gen Altima. M45 is based on the FM platform, which is shared with the Japanesse Skyline, US FX35/45, G35 coupe and sedan, 350Z. Staega wagon also shares the FM platform now.

No no no, the G35 coupe (the new one w/ the sport pkg and 298hp ) is still next on my hit list. Don't you worry about a thing!

I was pretty sure the new m45 was going to be based on the fuga concept and not the teanna. The platform is also based on the famous g35.

Definitely not the same platform. The M45 is considerably more curvy and smooth looking than that ugliness that is called a Maxima.
Surely, Nissan would get some opinions from current Max owners who would quickly right this car off as too Euro looking and very unattractive.
BTW - those are the same rims currently offered on the Q45 Sport and Touring pkgs except with a Nissan logo instead of Infiniti.
