need some clutch advise...slipping???

my car has 78k on it and the clutch was never changed. is it uslual for our cars to have such a numb feeling clutch? lately as i drive i have getting going and stalling more than usual. maybe becuse im used to my miatas stiff clutch, i donno.

so anyway could this be cause i need the clutch replaced? would cluch slipping affect launches or does slippage refer to when the rpm's go up but you dont accelarate?

if i were to replace it which one to get? and how much am i looking at for installation? any good shops around NY? thanx, i appriciate the help.

I believe slippage is the latter of your to proposals... being that of near disengagement while throttle is opened more resulting in highr revs. but no accel.

have teh car in 4th or 5th at around 3K rpm or more and floor it. If the revs increase more than speed (you'll hear it and know for sure), the clutch is slipping. Otherwise, its fine.
