i was wondering if anyone has swapped a vq35 into a 2k body style, if so how much did it cost. my vq30 has about 109k and i would like to swap it out for the more powerful and newer 3.5 litre. the reason i would opt for something like this is that my body is in good condition and so is the interior.

if anyone can point me in the right direction that be great and much appreciated.

 

It would be more cost efficient to just trade up for a 5.5 gen.

Someone here has done it but IMO, it's so not worth it. Especially seeing that the 2k2 doesnt cost much more than the 2k1 on the used car market AND they look 'identical' for all intents and purposes.

 

I agree, get the 2k2. you will get so much more than just the engine, get HID, clear tails , you know is the little things that count

 

how much hp does the 2k2/2k3s have? and also how much do they usually run? dealer and/or private

 

2k2/2k3 have the VQ35 and they are rated at 255hp.

Here in Northern California, you can find a 2k2 for anything from $15k to $25k....it really depends on what the condition of the car is, how many miles it has, options and etc. I was able to get my 2003 Max SE with 25k miles for about $18k. You just have to look around for the best deal.

 

I got a 3.5 in my 4th gen but it has 3.0 heads and works off the normal 4th gen ECU

he is the only one that i know of that did the swap... 2k2 into a 2k...

 

yeah that is my brother. he has the vq35 in his 2k maxima. but he had no choice but to do it and i am glad he did. and there was no headaches cause it was a preety simple swap. plus he has everything that a 2k2 maxima has except the body.
