Will 16" wheels fit over 5.5th gen brakes?

I'm thinking of buying some lightweight 16" wheels to put on my 5.5th gen Maxima. Will they fit over the brakes? Thanks for your input.

the 5.5 wasn't available in GXE. Only prior to 2002.

SE and GLE only.

Uh-oh. Here we go. There was a discussion about this last week or so. Apparently, there were GXEs, but production numbers were relatively low. VMaximus02 has a GXE.

stock 16's. it was off a 2k maxima. nothing too special.
no idea what sizes are as they are still put away. i'm sure a current 16"-rim driver will tell you.

i was on the 16's with those coilovers for over 8 months before i got the moda rims. but i have yet to drive with stock 16's, dropped, and the front lip, so i may prolly have to raise it up. we'll see if i'm lazy or not.

im assuming 17" is the smallest I can fit on my 6th gen, trying to decide if it would look rediculous with that size. Normally when I buy a car I wouldnt downsize in wheels but I know theres some performance to be gained by dropping 1" in size and 17s are cheaper and lighter.

I have the BlehmCo BBk which uses 2004 rotors with my stock 2000 calipers, and they just barely clear my stock SE 17's...fyi...I don't know if the 2004 calipers are the same size though....
