Interior Lighting Question for 2002

My max seems very dark inside, even at the highest setting the dash is dark to me, I have a GLE with black gauges so maybe that's it.

Those with heated seats - do the 2 little switches light up when your lights are on? Not the orange light when the heater is on, but the actual switch itself?

On your doors, do the lock/unlock buttons light up?

On the auto climate control , do the "auto" , "econ", "off", etc. buttons light up?

Thanks,
Keith

PS - This 02 Max sure has a ton of BS problems, my father-in-law had the 3 Maxs before the 5th gen and he loved them, he's shocked at how the quality dropped

I have the same problem. Even if the brightness **** is at maximum, the cluster is very dark. My previous Maxima (1991) was much brighter.

I bought the car used. Maybe the previous howner changed the bulbs for low wattage one.

The heated seat switch are not lighting in my car. The electrical schematic show only power indicator, no illumination lighting.

All the climate control buttons light up. For the lock/unlock I dont now I will check tonight.

The lock/unlock button is also lighted.

The only way to change brightness level is to change the bulbs in the cluster. I think you have to remove the cluster to check the type off bulb used. Not an easy task.

I hope this will help. If I find an easy way to brighten up the display I will post it.

Can you put an Infiniti I35 cluster in our car? Those are really bright.

The lights of the two heated seat switches were burned out. I opened the casing of the switch and replace the bulb with Radio Shack one. Use the mini 12volts.

I closed de casing, replug the switch and it's working like new.

tecman are you talking about the orange indicator or the actual switch lighting itself?

Yes, in my 2002, there is only one bulb in the switch to give on/off indication. No illumination.
