question about springs?

i am about to get an '02 SE..... i am interested in making my ride as smooth of a ride as possible. i am curious if there are springs better than the stock SE springs for smoothness. also, if i am interested in lowering my ride about a 1/2inch....am i able to drop it 1/2inch and still have a smoother than stock ride.

if possible....what springs should i get?

Your best bet is either Maxspeeds or H&R springs. Both have a mild drop (just over 1") as you can see in the pic below (I have maxspeeds) and both have a similar ride quality to OEM SE springs. When you get springs, you should replace the OEM struts with Tokico Illuminas, which have 5 adjustable ride settings (soft to hard) so you can tweak the ride you the comfort level you want. OEM struts with any aftermarket springs will give you a WORSE ride quality than SE stock.

Or you could get some GLE stock springs, which are softer than the SE...

GLE springs will increase the amount of body roll ten fold. Based on my experience, GLE's handle terribly.

H&R's are generally considered to provide a ride very similar to stock with a small drop. Plenty of spring info on my site.

I got the PRO KIT EIBACH and the drop is bout 1.0 r 1.3 frt and It gives you a nice ride defenatly. I got tokico blues and on rough or potholy road they tend to hit alittle hard. but the ride is nice with lots of performance to keep a smile on your face.

I love when people slow down on corners while I'm stepping on it!!!!!

Aren't Eibachs kinda harsh and bumpy at times? Just what I've heard... but then like they always say... depends on the individual....

I just purchased a set yesterday. I am looking for struts now. I am leaning towards the Tokico HP Blues (since I hear these have a stock "feel").

Tokico Blues are about 10% stiffer than OEM. Pretty much an ideal stiffness increase for a drop of 1.5 or less (like our Maxspeeds). If you want, you can fork over the extra $150 and get Tokico Illuminas, since you can adjust the ride quality on those.
