Stillen Intake... worth it?

Sup my fellow proud Maxima Drivers????

I have a '02 Max (Auto) with 24k miles... I got a Stillen Air intake filter installed in my car back in 2002, after 5 months the MAF blew and i took the intake off and brought it to the dealership and had them replace the MAF under warranty... Now after almost 2 yrs i was thinking of putting the Filter back on... Just wondering about what you guys think of that... I know the filter doesnt provide any gains but i wanted it back just for the low growl when im accelerating!... Do u guys think its safe to put it back on... and also after 2 years of not using it... what kinda cleaning should i do on it... I heard theres a kit to service the filter (lubricate it?)... please let me know ur comments as soon as you can... cuz i cant wait to get it back on if its ok!

my email id is eastsidetunedmaximadriver@yahoo.com

if you want the growl then do the GAB with K&N drop in. some marginal performance gains and growl as ANY other intake.

I hear ya... I really dont wanna spend any more $$ on this car as im planning to sell it next summer, cuz i was in an accident and the car aint the same after! But i love my Max too much to even think to get rid of! Anyone know if the 2006 Max is any different looking? cuz i dont really like the looks of the '04-'05 Maxima!

Thanks for the feedback, but what i really wanna know is if my filter goin to blow the MAF... im really worried about that! The Nissan tech whos a friend of mine said the 3.5 engines are a lil too sensitive and might cause the MAF to blow!

I've had a Berk intake w/ K&N filter for around 400 miles now and a K&N drop-in for 30k miles before that and no MAF problems....

Just gotta make sure I don't over-oil the filter when I clean it....

Yeah you can get one of those kits... just make sure you don't over-oil... I'm not sure how to tell you how much oil to use, so use your best judgement...
