I have a 2002 Max, I noticed this knocking sound on the left side of the car when I am turning right after I make a complete stop and the knocking sound happens when you accelerate into the turn. The slight right does not cause this effect, its only the stop and turn right and accelerate.

Have you had the recall done to your car ? they repleace the latteral links which would cause your phenomenon. I would check with the dealer and see if the recall is still open on your car- meaning it hasn't been done.

 

i had a similar problem with my 02. they replaced the front sway bar/bushings and that solved the problem

 

Thanks folks. I have an appointment setu for the Recall check, I will also have them look at the sway bar/bushings as well.

 

Sounds like the same problem I have. I see you are in the DC area. What ever you do, don't bring it to VOB in Rockville up off of the Beltway. Check this out...
