intake scoop or no scoop?
intake scoop or no scoop?
i have a berk intake on my 2k max ans was woundering if others keep thier stock scoop or removed it when they put in an intake?
i read that the temp by the filter only varies by a few degrees with or w/o a scoop, so it make no performance diff, still it seems some cooler air by the filter is good.
i just dont want that scoop hangin around. anyone think there are any drwabacks to removing it, or any pluses for keeping it? anyone taken it off, what do you think?

you wont notice a difference with it on or off. i left mine in because i didnt want to relocate the sensor and i figured it would draw cooler towards the filter. i actually took some heat resistant tubing and put it from the end of the scoop to just under the filter. i notice no difference but i figure its directing cooler air than would be crossing past the ac condenser and radiator.
mine came out
two words... weight reduction.
i shaved .oo37 off of my 1/4 mile time.
eventually, it will may become loose and bump against your hood, producing rattling sound that will drive you nuts, like mine did. take it out.

just ziptie the sensor up somewhere out of the way
