paint chip
i was driving on the belt parkway yesterday and hit a large section of road that was unpaved. this morning i when i was walking to my car i noticed a spot on my hood where the paint was chipped off
(i'll try to have pics up soon). i want to know if there's anything i can do to fix this short of painting the whole thing over that would make it not look as obvious. i'm afraid that if i leave it alone then the paint around it may start chipping off as well. correct me if i'm wrong please. thanks.

There are 2 ways you can take care of it. You can use touch up paint and brush it or you can body work and paint the hood. On one hand, brushing it is the cheapest way to go, but you'll still see the outline of where the chip was. And, even if the color match is perfect, you'll still see the uneveness from paint to chip to paint...you know what I mean. On the other hand, you can body work and paint the hood. When done properly, you won't see any sign of the chip. Now, depending on where the chip is, the shop may recommend doing a blend on the left or right fender. I noticed the color of your car, and metallics in general, are harder to match color. Hope this helps a bit.

Do I need to buy one of these clear coat pens to finish the job?
