Would an 85watt H3 melt '01 foglights?

I'm posting this question for a friend of mine who owns a '01 Annivers ed. He wants to get 85watt H3's for his fogs but was wondering if the oem plastic foglight lenses would melt from the heat? Yes or no?

Just get PIAA 55W, says like an 85W. Personally I would stay with factory specs.
Plenty bright for me.

His harness will melt over time. Just stick w/ OEM wattage bulbs.

He's not kidding. I melted a harness - stay with the same wattage as stock.

By getting higher wattage bulbs does that do anything with the brightness of them? From my understanding either way they will get the factory 55w. Giving a bulb less wattage than what it is rated will produce a dim bulb since it isn't getting enought power. Why would you want this in your fogs?
