a friend of mine has a 2000 altima and would like to know how to program his remote.

If you're talking about reprogramming the key fobs for diff. lock functions then the instructions should be in the owners manual.

 

What kind of different functions are you refering to? I don't remember key fob programming instructions being in the manual.

Sounds like you'll have to go to the dealer for that. I thought you were talking about options, i.e. having the horn on when you lock the doors or having the turn signal lights blink twice when you unlock...something like that.
