Guys, help....Climate control

Ok guys, well today I was stupid and managed to f-ck up my automatic climate control while trying to do some LED stuff. No idea what is wrong, but we plugged soonerfan's into my car and it works fine. My unit won't work at all...NOTHING.

So looks like I'm getting a new one

anyone either have an extra one (?) or know how much they cost from a dealer?

good day - also managed to tear my leather seat with a screwdriver in my pocket.

on the upside, the blue LED swap into window switches worked perfectly

all help appreciated guys....this is what happens when you mess too much with the car...

check some of the local junkers around here. Prolly run you $20. I also know someone who has a parts business based on a network of junk yards. I can pass you the number if you want to try them. They are located our of Spotsylvania, VA, but they come up here regularly. They might be able to find it cheap.

Did a national search of junkyards (God bless the internet). Cheapest price nationally for the auto cc unit was around $80, way out in Idaho, all the local yards had them as well, for around $150-200.

Luckily, I must be in Gods good grace today (f-ups notwithstanding) and icelandmaxima came through with a pm and news that he had one for $100...turns out he lives just blocks from me and I got it tonight (gave him 125...)..Just finished "blueing" out everything and installed - works perfect, and I no longer have 2 loose buttons (broken the first time I blued it )

anyhow, thanks to icelandmaxima for the hook-up, I owe you one -

btw he has a HID assembly with all included parts except wiring harness in mint condition for like $500 - if anyone is interested, hit him up (there's a post in the DC-area forum)!

I was toying around with the circuit board trying to get one of the lights to work (contact was loose, so I soldered it). apparently, the solder gun must have touched something it wasn't supposed to

the light worked, but the unit didn't. Spent all day trying to figure it out and couldn't. So I spent $125 because I'm an idiot and shouldn't mess with circuit boards until I get my electrical engineering degree (which will be NEVER).

you are trying to do the swap? From what I've heard it's next to impossible.

Jason, I think my off button on the old one is the broken one too...

I've taken the cc and radio apart several times, and never had a problem. I think I somehow zapped the climate control by maybe touching my soldering iron accidentally to something on the circuit board (resistor, etc...). I don't recall having touched anything except the lighting contact, but who knows....it's a moot point now, as I have a new cc installed.
