Instrument Cluster - Bulb type?

Hey... Question for my fellow org'ers. I have a 2000 Max GLE and want to change the bulb behind the speedometer. Right now it shines white which i personally like- was wondering how hard it is to change that bulb and was wondering if it was the Bulb #74 (same as the igntion key bulb). If some one can provide me the How-to and the bulb number it would be awsome. Thanks in advance

When i played with my cluster i noticed two things:

1. seems to be a custom bulb permanantly affixed to the holder/socket.
2. The cluster color is regulated not by the bulbs, but by film inside it.. Like white layers of plastic..

You can force a different color using LEDs but people have been getting varying results.

the only way to get even color is to use a sharpie and color the bulbs. The only problem is that the color fades due to the ink melting off the bulbs.
