how much $$ to install springs

Dose anybody know about how much it would cost to install a set of maxspeed springs. I just don't have the time right now and want to get them installed this week. I live in Miami if anyone has a shop they can recommend thanks Luis.

Typically I'd guess that'll run ya $200-$300... guesstimated...

I got a quote from a performance place here in VA and it was $270 for struts/springs... I'm not sure if its gonna be any different for just springs cuz you still have to take the struts off to mount the springs.

Since your in Miami. You should find some friends with spring compressors and do them yourself. It's not to awefully hard.

You should be able to rent/borrow spring compressors at certain auto parts places like Autozone.... also if you're gonna do it yourself... I'd recommend getting your hands on air tools somehow... Home Depot maybe? I'm not sure, but I'd think you could rent those too... they'll make a difference...

Cost me $300, a shop manager and his foreman at a local Midas shop did a spring/strut swap for me, the good part about it was i had the car back in about 2 hours. Took a little looking around to find a place that would do it though, especially the same day.

Air tools for refastening the top hat (piston rod nut) with the spring compressed, esp if you're doing it alone, it just makes things much quicker (and easier)... fine maybe ya don't really need something that powerful, but a decently powered drill with a socket will definitely help with the spring compression and uncompression....

The strut upper mount nuts you're referring to come off with a 14mm socket wrench, and the steering knuckle bolts will come off with 17mm and 19mm socket wrenches.... not sure if ya even need a breaker bar for those...

$300.00 that is steep.

If you pay $300 hundred for springs & struts install your getting raped. I got Springs & struts installed along witha Y-pipe & a full catback system for $290 while I waited at MAXIMUMTUNING in L.I. home of the VB mod. .................Now I am not saying you should come to L.I. from Florida but you have to be able to find a better deal than that. By the way the price I paid is what anyone would pay. He dident know me anymore than he would know you. Great work at great prices.

I wouldn't pay more than $0. I say do it yourself only if you have the right tools. I did mine on the weekend when our shop was closed. The Branick spring compressor made the install really easy.

This is the Branick Spring Compressor

damn, $300? that's waay too much. i could swap my springs 3 times for that price

I paid $85 for a spring/strut swap at a local shop. At this point, I am NOT satisfied with the quality of their work.
On the other hand, a few other people quoted me $100 for a complete swap. So you figure out how much you wanna pay

It's $80 for all fours. You shouldn't have to pay more.

No they do not do alignments there. Besides on a 5th Gen Maxima there is no way to do a four wheel alignment on our cars. They may put sensors on the rear wheels for a reference but thats it . There is no way to adjust our rear wheels. Any one who is chargeing you for a 4 wheel alignment is stealin your money. went & had the front wheels aligned for $25 bucks at local tire place.

I have the tools just don't have the time I wanted to get them in this week. But if its going to be anywhere near 250 or 300 I will defiantly wait a couple weeks till I can do it myself. thanks for the replies.

My experience...I walked in 4 different shops with the springs in my hand and asked for a quote. All 4 opened the book and said "6 hours" and then gave my prices ranging from $375-$480. I told them all they were high and walked out. I've since sold the springs (got more than what I paid, too ).

I was in nissan and asked and the guy laughed and said "the book is wrong on that one, should be less than 4 hours for someone who's done it once before." Should be less than $250, but you might have to find someone who's done it on a maxima once before so they know it's not going to take long.

I was quoted $150 for springs and shocks, it sounds like a reasonable price to me.

I definately understand not having time and not wanting to do it yourself (I have a few mods in the same situation), but if I was you, I would hold out until you have time and do it yourself. You can save some cash and be sure that it's done right. And springs are not hard to do at all. It shouldn't take long. Just my .02
