I haven't tried a CDRW in my Alpine mp3/cd headunit, but I do know CDRWs are harder to read than CDRs. The difference between a digital "1" and "0" on the disc is less distinct than an aluminum-pressed CD or a CDR, probably something to do with the fact that the material is rewritable

Yeah it won't run CD-RW, for the reason spirilis mentioned.
In my 97 the cd player is on the fritz, so I just yesterday had delivered, for $7 shipped, a tape deck adapter from ebay. I'm about to buy myself a discman which can play MP3s on cd-r/cd-rw. Bestbuy has them as cheap as $25, but I'm going to splurge and spend $50 on the philips one they have online (because the others can't read ID3 tag info, but the philips can). This way I have not only a discman, but also a way to play MP3 CDRWs from within my car.
Interestingly the tape deck on my 97 works like a charm (I wonder if it's been used before?), but the 00's tapedeck is loud and doesn't produce sound. Damn tapes! If your deck works, you'll have more reliable sound than those really cheap FM transmitters that you can get.

SkoorbMax,
My wife's Honda has no problem running CDRW ( well it is 2003 design, so , i guess, that the big difference ). Also for my old nissan i got a gift kenwood cd player - worked w/o problems with CDRW. But i agree with you that CDRW is tricky to handle... trickiiiieeeer
I think, maybe just get IPod or some mp3 player , plug it in and be done with it ?
Really don't want to have walkman flying around...

you'll need a bracket for any after market stereo. after you put single din, you'll have a empty hole under. So this one gonna fill it.
