You should have got it from someone on here ther'e like 2 in the for sale forums. Make sure you get a filter otherwise it wont fit w/just ths stock airbox, unless you cut it.

sorry, didn't notice you're new....

anytime the word "frankencar" comes up, a huge argument ensues about bad customer service from FC, etc etc and then everyone comes in an jocks Berk (justifiably so, I might add), etc etc etc. Anyhow, it seems to be a common problem to people (though plenty of us have never had problems with F/C...)..just wait it out.

remember: good things come to those who wait.

Irish you kill me. I agree though, wait it out. I have the Franken intake and wont give it up for anything right now. I know berk is the same idea, but wasnt anything from them for a 2k2 when I got mine.

I just ordered the Franken exhaust and going through the same issues. Even though I stressed the importance of getting it fast, it seems to be a 2nd priority for them.

I think they all have other jobs and this comes 2nd to them. If it doesnt then yes, they suck big bolls for treating people like this. If they are all working and doing this on the side, then I can cut them some slack because we all know how much the primary job can controll our lives.

If Scott doesnt seem to be working for you, then email Steve. He hopefully will get you taken care of.

Ha Ha Well.... by the time this is over I will have covered have the market for our cars.

I had the OBX first. I actually liked the sound (not too loud and a little rumble, but there was a little BWAHHHHH around 2k RPM) but I hated the look. The tips size was not too bad, it was that big can under the car I didnt like. So I took it off last year and went back to stock. Was going to trade the max on something else but couldnt find anything under 35 that I wanted, the max is a nice car with nice features.

I tried to put the B-pipe back under the car with the stock rear section. Well, the bolts on the rear snapped in half and I had to cut the rear off. So I drove around Cop Ridden Burke, VA for a whole day trying to find a place to get the car high enough to put the rear on. The car is sick loud with exhaust shooting strait out the B pipe, as well as MAD FAST. The car actually got squirelly on the top end when I ran it on 123. It was crazy loud too at WOT. Sounded awesome though, would def do that at the track sometime....

I recently shopped around and picked up a Magnaflow 2.5 into dual 2.25 oval Stanless with two tips.

I had a shop cut the OBX muffler off and weld the Magna onto the pipe. Sound is horrible. Way to loud, way too BWAHHHH and it doesnt look right or fit right. Because of the down angle of the rear section there isnt enough pipe to put the muffler back enough, so the tips stick out like gun barrels and the exhaust is too visible.

Long story short, after much research, I chose the Franken and wish I would have picked up the rear section after the OBX instead of making a stop off in magnaflow he11. I will say though, the magna is def. the most power producing at top end. I can really feal the difference.

I totally didnt mean to hijack this post but I know everyone always wants to know what exhaust is best. It is all up to taste and what you are willing to give up for the top end HP that you will add and the low end obnoxious sound.

Well I guess this is way OT... my bad for asking...

But DBLRR thanks for the detailed response... I was just curious cuz I have a Greddy right now and with the addition of a y-pipe, I'm gonna have to be creeping past cops in Fairfax too... I'm probably gonna end up with the y-pipe, my Greddy midpipe, and the stock rear section... can't really justify getting another rear section or cat-back right now...

And sorry for the OT discussion guys....

Well the cost isnt that bad to be honest. $200 for the rear. To keep the 2.5 with a design that wont get you pulled at every stop light.

Also, the biggest reason is because any shop in this area charges silly money to do this simple work. $100+ to put your stock muffler on your pipes. For that much you might as well cough up the extra 100 and keep your stock in tact and have a whole setup. That is why I am doing it, I just cant pay some guy to weld my stuff for me again, it is just sensless.

You live close enough... lemme know when you've gotten the FC and if I can come check it out... maybe by then you'll be able to hear me coming down 123 or the Parkway with the y-pipe and Greddy.... then again, so will half the county cops...

i hadn't read up about berk and ordered a frankencar/apexi midpipe and filter. took a month. after 30 days, paypal wouldn't chase them for me. PLUS, when i finally got the thing, they forgot to include a maf adapter. that took another 30 days to get. just got the adapter yesterday. never again... but hey, good luck, man...

Berk and FrankenCar both had intakes for our cars roughly at the same time. FrankenCar was the first to include the midpipe. Both are identical performance wise. Berk's midpipe looks much better and is much lighter making it easier to not use any braces. I have both intakes and midpipes. Brian's customer service is much better and when he says it's shipped, it'll be there within a couple of days. FrankenCar, well, you'll eventually get it.

Yep. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=349937

Here is the deal with Frankencar. I got into it with Steve a long time ago for not doing XYZ. After all was said and done, steve and I communicated and I think I understand them now. There is NO WAY they can run a company with three people in it just selling Intakes and Exhausts to the Cheap A$$ Maxima crowd.

So this means they all have to have other jobs. Probably busy jobs. I think they have done a great job in researching some good parts and doing good deals on these parts. This exhaust is extremely nice and I am really bummed I didnt buy this system FIRST. I waisted much time and money with these other systems.

I think if everyone keeps in mind that these guys are NOT doing this full time, maybe they will keep in mind how busy their own job can keep them. That being said.....

one month is too long. Anytime you pay money for something then you should get it in a reasonable time. This is why I CONTACTED them first. To make sure they had an exhaust in stock and make sure they knew I was ordering and needed it quick. Sometimes you may order something from a place and they have to wait for new parts to come in. Try contacting them first and let them get back to you. Each time I wrote Steve he got back to me within 24 hours.

Also.... I ordered the D2 coilovers from UrbanImports. It has been a month and I am still waiting on them. With this problem, and that, I am still waiting. Does this mean they suck now and we should black-list them from the .ORG???

We are not driving HONDAS, we don't have every car part vendor out there making parts for us. So give the ones that want to work with us some time. It is not like supply and demand for the Maxima performance parts is banging business in the door. Even Stillen (the formidable nissan perf. speciallists) have dropped most Maxima items from their "ToDo List".

Either way, buy from who you want, make the right choice, and expect the worste, then you will be happy with what you get. Above all..... Buyer Beware!

I agree completely...Small companies don't have huge warehouses of inventory, but they make things that are better in quality and sometimes not available at all from the big companies. Particularly Frankencar, Berk, and BlehmCo, these guys provide some great product for the Maxima so I'm more than willing to give them benefit of the doubt if there are shipping issues, holdups, etc (none of which I have experienced from these companies, I might add) because they are "specialists" in our cars, not some big ricer-company that makes garbage components (think..."projector headlights)
