Haziness in HID lights

I am driving an 02 on loan from a dealer tonight and tomorrow to see what I think of it. There is some haziness in the HID headlights (the plastic shroud anyway). I've seen others with this before. How can you correct it? The can isn't under warranty so that is out. Can you clean them somehow? I thought this would be a popular topic but didn't see it in the FAQ's or within the first 10 pages of the 5th gen forum. I'd just like to know that I can take care of the problem if I buy the car. I'm not going to be able to negotiate it with them because they are WAY under book already and when I make an offer I'm going for their knees (like the Bronco's offensive lineman).

Thanks in advance.

I can't find the paper where I wrote it or the doc where I saved it, but I'm pretty sure it's 3M plastic polish that people have used to clear that up.

I have a little haze on the inside on my lamp......still debating on if I wanna stick my headlights in the oven to clean the inside of the lens......Which i believe is how most people opened their lights.

/\ i second the Plexus! I had some haziness on my headlights also, and another org member hooked me up with some on my headlights and WOW! Good and new. It's a spray, put it on, clean it with a cloth and good as new.

Safer to use a heat gun when opening up your headlights. Home depot $20

I used Meguire's plastic polish. Buffs the haze you get from road crap etching on the plastic.

Plexus is definately the best. I tried just about everything out there and plexus by far is the best. I also doubt that it is inside of the housing because mine looked like it was definately inside, but after a couple of applications with some good elbow grease, viola, gone! My last application was about 3.5-4 mos ago and still looking good!

I think NIssan recommends 3M plastic polish. I think there was a TSB for it somewhere.
