Clutch Stop Mod

My g/f is buying a Z3 Coupe so I was browsing BWM forums and they have some good $hit .
So for everybody who is tired of extensive dead zone clutch travel here is a simple $4 mod, with appropriate changes to the Maxima of course, but the theory is the same.

I am going to do this weekend.

You dont need to do this. You can just adjust the fork on your clutch to get rid of the dead space. The 350z and the maximas have the same clutch pedal assembly.

I might have to try this out. Fezzik do you happen to know how to do the adjustment properly and safely? I once test drove a 350Z and fell in love with the clutch and shifter. If the clutch assembly is the same then would the adjustment make the maxima clutch feel like the 350Z clutch?

Do like it says on that web site. You'll have to also change your cruise control switch. Just be sure you have a good bite on the bolt on the fork or you will round the bolt. Just lower it to where its about level to the brake pedal. I got it where the clutch engages just a little off the floor. The way i test to make sure it was fully engaged. Go out somewhere and put in 3rd or 4th or 5th gear and see what speed you are at and what rpms you are at before you modify the clutch. If your clutch is too low and not engaging fully then you will have higher rpms at the certain speeds than originally, but if ur fully engaged then ur rpms and speed will match like before.
