Hit by the headlight bandit

well when i came out of work on wed night was was greeted to a maxima with no headlights and dented quater panels. needless to say i was not too happy. so the new jersey headlight theifs strike again. let me tell you...you get some interesting looks driving a car around with the headlights and front grill gone.. so i took the maxima back home to new hampshire where she is safe i really dont advise driving 5 hours on the highway with the lights gone cause you get some serious lift on the hood. this whole thing makes me sick..to know that there are people out there that need to take $hit from people to make money its BS.

This sh@t is stupid.. I cannot believe this thing. Is there a way to sue Nissan for their crappy design on HID. I really want to have one of those 02-03 HID, legal way, but it scares me to pay $1,400 for them so an A$%$%^hole steals them..... Trust me when you see a CIVIC with HID.. there goes yours......

Sorry about that man......

Well then you would have to sue Acura, Lexus and Infinity too since all of their HIDs too get stollen. Why buy a car knowing that you run a high risk of getting things stollen. I have a 2000 maxima and have thought about getting HIDs but then I think about all the times my car is on the street. Knowing that one day someone can just take them and leaving me without lights would cause great damage, financially and mentally.

I am not saying do not buy a car with great options, I am just saying that it isent smart to have things that attract other people when you live in a dence enviornment.
Especially knowing that one day you will have to leave your car on the street!

Ohh and btw, little things like locks do not stand in the way of a good theif. I have already learned from experience. Even those big nutt lug lucks and breakable in 2 minutes.

Move to Texas -- you have to have a brass pair to even think about jacking with someone's car down here; most of us have guns and know quite well how to use them.
As far as I know the HID thieves have not made it down here yet.

that sucks dude i'm sorry to hear that. i had someone almost steal mine when i was 150 feet away from a mall entrance last winter. but either they were too stupid to work around the brackets or somebody spooked them. in any case just do what i do from now on. i always back into every parking spot. that way my lights are facing out into the aisle. i figure the thieves will think twice about trying to steal the lights if they will be in plain view while doing it. anybody else have any suggestions?
