ECU Screw reset procedure!
I read somewhere there is a way to reset ECU with two turn of the screw back and forth. Has anyone done it? Where are instructions for that?
Thanks
Nick
Thanks

the screw terminal is located on the drivers side right kick panel(under the center of dash) That is only applicable as kratz noted. Our cars have two holes in the same location, however they are merely exposing the inside of the ecu. To reset the ecu and pull the codes, unfortunately you'll need ahandheld code reader or go to auto zone. If you simply want to reset, you can remove the termianl for more than an hour, or you can remove both and touch them together, grounding the residual electricity, and therefore eliminating your hour wait. Or you can open the opposite side panel of the ecu, just take the plastic kicker out, and unplug the ecu harness by flipping the lock arm to the right, and pulling it out, note there are tabs locking the arm you'll need to depress.

the ecu will take ~15 minutes to totally relearn its equipment, during this time you will notice idle/drivability changes, erratic behaviour, etc. if you have had your ecu updated with the consult II from the dealer, you will lose your updates, such as the fuel cut tsb, etc.. but you'll lose those any time you lose battery for an hour or more.

I thought i was being polite. I sais "Thanks" to all the comments. If his reply wasn't understandable, then i just restated the question. Thats all.

Hey, Alex....you once posted that u did not like the after-effects of the fuel cutoff TSB -indeed, that it caused 'other issues'.....can u comment some more on those issues and what other problems this TSB caused?
Thks

Well first, it didn't 100% fix the fuel cut. Second, it added a cold start hesitation/surging. Third, seat of the pants says slightly less throttle-response and throughout powerband loss.
All that and it's still worth the less sensitive on/off bucking throttle sensitivity IMHO.
