SES light went on, now gone?

I haven't seen any posts about this so i don't know how common this is. Last friday as i was leaving my house i saw the SES light turn on, this is the second time that has happened, the first time an 02 sensor needed to be replaced. But this time before i went to look into this/call the dealership i realized today that the SES light is gone. I really don't know enough to guess on this topic except for the idea that a sensor or something could be lose somewhere? If anyone could enlighten me with some info i'd appreciate it.

I hacve the exact same problem, my SES light has come on for a few days, then turned off for a few days, then off for a few days, and so on for about 2 weeks now. I am wondering what the hell is going on with this. I took it to Autozone when the SES light was on and I think I got a P0171 (Bank1 - Lean) or something like that. Anyone have any recommendations?

My SES periodically turns on and off, yet there is no change in how the car drives. It'll be on for a few weeks then turn off for a few weeks, then its repeats itself. I pulled P0420. Its a sensor, I know that but I just havent had the time to deal with it.

On a side note: Anyone know how much O2 sensors go for from Dave B?

Looks like we're getting more questions than answers huh? hopefully someone will give us some pointers, otherwise i guess i'll try my dealership and see how often the guy i always talk to in service has heard of the SES light coming on and then going off kind of randomly. I know how it can suck to have to bring in your car to the dealer especially when it comes down to the cost of getting something done, but the guy i speak to in service doesn't try to pull me into the shop whenever he can, but usually gives me good advise/info whether or not there is a real problem/if i'm just curious about something.

2weeks after my y-pipe SES came on. Swore it was an o2 but ready to replace it turned off and hasnt come back on in 4 weeks. I thkn my car learned a difference and since, MPG has increased. I drive moderately consistently.

I had the same issue 2 weeks ago..That very day, I disconnected the battery overnight, next morning checked and the light was gone and hasnt re-appeared. I hope it stays this way. I didnt see any diff in performance and the issue is that I live in Canada and the stealer charges $40 just to read the code. I plan many trips to detroit, might get it checked then...BTW...will the code still be stored after resetting ( disconnect battery?)
Thanks
