Anyone installed remote starter?
Hi. I wanted to install a remote starter in my 2k2 Max. Does anyone know how to do it? Do I need to buy a starter kit or is it just a ECU settings. Thanx for any help.

It's the best-especially in the extremes of weather. You know when it's real hot or real cold it gets the inside just right! To do it right you'll have to get a "chip" key and have the installer wrap the wires around it so that your car "thinks" a chip key is starting her up. That's if you want to use the factory keyless fob thing. It's no biggie-maybe a couple a hun$ depending on who you know.

I just posted something about this. Installer recommended a Valet 561R remote start and 556U immobilizer bypass, $250 installed. Only problem is that it comes with 1 ugly little remote. I want a system that uses the existing remote, like the 561T, but am trying to find if the T is compatible with Nissan OEM system. To work, it needs an 'auxiliary output'.
I'm electrically inclined, but prefer an experienced installer to do this job.. looks like a lot of connections. Take a look at the installation guide before you decide to do it yourself.

UPDATE:
Just got word from a bunch of other org'ers that you CAN install a system without having extra remotes. Instead of a new remote, you can program your lock button to start the car after 2 or 3 presses. I'm going with 3 presses.. I use the 'chirp' to locate my car in parking lots.
Check out the Valet 561T (no remote needed) and the 556U immobilizer bypass.
It won't matter if your car doesn't have auxiliary output, because they can hook it to the lock switch instead.
