Mass Airflow sensor..Help!!!

I've been told that my mass air flow sensor requires replacement...the dealer wants $286, I noticed a air mass meter available on-line for about $110. Is it the same part (just a different name)?...Is it hard to replace?

Sorry..it's a 2000 max se

Thanks!

But if he has an 02 or 03... he either has to get a $400 AM-600 MAF replacement, or he can go with a $90 2k1 MAF, but will have to transfer the IAT sensor from the existing MAF... (I learned all that from the thread I posted above )

The part # for the MAF sensor for the 2000 Max is 226802Y001 and it usually retails for about $90.00-$100.00. Be sure to ask for that specific part # because they may try to sell you older stock which retails for about $400.00. You will also have to have your ECU re-programmed by a dealer after the replacement. I own a 2000 max myself and had the opportunity to do the research over several months before I changed mine.
