Mass Airflow sensor..Help!!!
I've been told that my mass air flow sensor requires replacement...the dealer wants $286, I noticed a air mass meter available on-line for about $110. Is it the same part (just a different name)?...Is it hard to replace?
Sorry..it's a 2000 max se
Thanks!

What year is your Max? Either way, check out this thread... it may answer some of your questions.... http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=348395

The part # for the MAF sensor for the 2000 Max is 226802Y001 and it usually retails for about $90.00-$100.00. Be sure to ask for that specific part # because they may try to sell you older stock which retails for about $400.00. You will also have to have your ECU re-programmed by a dealer after the replacement. I own a 2000 max myself and had the opportunity to do the research over several months before I changed mine.

OK..I found the part for about $80..good deal but what about reprograming the computer?...what's the deal with that?...can I pull the battery cable?...would that clear the error code from the memory? sorry...i don't have experience in this area.
