Is It True??
I have a 2000 se max, and i am experiencing cold start problems in the morning. the car actually cuts off about 2 times after starting it up again until it maintains it's normal rpm. i have a check engine light also. the error code is telling me that it is running lean on the right side. i had the o2 sensor replace and i have the same problem. do you think is the ignition coil problem? i had 1 replaced but everyone else in this forum was getting a #3 misfire? is my situation the same?

A misfire due to a faulty ignition coil will not produce a lean condition, but rather a rich condition because you have unburnt fuel from the misfiring cylinder.
A lean condition can be caused by a vacuum leak, cloged fuel injector or fuel filter, incorrect fuel pressure or a bad engine coolant temp sensor.
Hard starts may be caused by a faulty coolant temp sensor as well. You may not be getting a code for it just yet, as it still may be working just out of specification. You can also clean your throttle body to see if that helps your hard starts.

MAF sensor. I had the codes P0171 & 0174...banks lean. Same problem with the cold starts/bad idle/stalling. I had mine replaced under the extended warranty for $100 installed...and its all set now. Nissan also did an ECU reprogram at the same time.
