Gauge Bulbs

I know this has been asked many times but I can't find anything on this. I want to replace the bulbs in my Gauge Cluster as the bulbs in there now are getting very weak and dim. Is the #74 bulb replace the following bulbs:17 18 37 70 73 79 85 86 2721. Will any of these sizes fit in the Gauge Cluster?
Help Someone!!!!!!

I also would like to know this. My gauge really really dim. It would be nice if I could get it up to the level of new Hondas. Man, those things are BRIGHT!

Someone has done this already, anyone know who it is? i had my gauge cluster out today and actually took out the bulbs to look at them. The bulbs were black, almost looking like they were blown. I cleaned them up but the Gauge area is still not bright enough for me!!!!

Exactly my thought The gauge alone makes me want to get an Accord I do the same thing. I check my dimmer to see if it's all the way to bright. Sadly it always is...

i think that honda and acura moved to LED lit gauges and consoles. the new TL and TSX are just as bright as the accord. IMO its looks really sweet. my maxima is fine it terms of brightness, i just wish the colors were sharper.

There are 6 - I took mine apart the other day to see if I could do anything about it. If anything, What I might try to do is see if I can solder a jumbo led in place of the bulb, but I am going to have to hunt down the actual connector so I have some spares in case it does not work.

Bulbs

There has to be some other bulbs that will fit these connections, even if they are just a little bit brighter then the stock ones.

to the best of my knowledge it will not work on 2k+. and the 194 will not fit either. 194 is too big ...

no, you will not have the mile count of the other car. you will have your count since the ecu is the chip that holds the memory not the cluster.

Nice dude! It looks real bright. I really should give this a try!!

So are you using #74 or #194? If #194, there seems be many kinds (5 LEDs, Single LED, Inverted lense, etc)?

I had that in my 03 Max but decided to take it out, it was to much white for the interior. I am now going to replace the OEM gauges or at least match up the temp and gas gauges to the RPM and MPH gauges. Heres the site if you want to look. They are called Metal Flaked Gauges and are silver like the ones that come in out MAX.
Hereds the 1st link to the color of the Gauge Faces

Heres the lineup for the Maxima $35 for the gauges

Indiglow needles for the maxima, Only in Red for the Max, heres the color of them

can't we use 02-03 ingiglow on 00 or 01? i think the only difference is there's 2 screws next to needles, we could just poke holes with screwdriver to make them fit. I'm thinking of a crazy object to make our gauge tight...right now my gauge already look very different compare to most of us, too bad i don't have camera and i'm waiting for Pri63's write up for LED in radio cuz i burned the power line on the circuit board. The only way is to custom wire.. Well..i'll have pics by Chrismax

I am just wondering if maybe the bulbs that fit in an Acura,Honda or Volkswagon will possibly fit into the Maxima's Gauge Cluster.

Bulbs

There has to be another car company that uses the same kind of bulbs in there gauges as Nissan. I mean Honda/Acura , Toyota/Lexus, Some other car company. Or maybe the bulbs can be taken out of the connection and different bulbs put in. Anyone know or have they tried that?
