SES light Pulled P0174 code
My SES light has been on and off twice in the past 2 weeks went to autozone today pulled 0174 code system too lean bank 2 code. I'm not sure what to check or replace for this code. I'm guessing either the maf meter or o2 sensor but would'nt an o2 sensor problem throw a specific code for that sensor? Car is a 2000 with 61,000 miles any ideas out there? I hate getting ripped off at the dealer.

i have seen a new maf clear up this code as well as P0171 which is the opposing bank running too lean. you can get a quote from jerryromenissan.com and enter MAXIMA for 12% discount or call dave burnette @ 888-254-6060. both are great sources with good prices. the part you will be receiving is an updated version which no one seems to have problems with.

Thanks, Sloppy I have a couple more questions since there is a updated maf for around $80 versus $400. Does the new meter need the ecm flash to work correctly? I thought I read a post, where someone just installed the new meter with no flash and the car ran ok.

it does not need the flash to work. i replaced mine w/o the flash and have had no issues just as many others. some had the reflash and some others skipped it and the consensus seems to be that it will not affect operation one way or the other.

just put in premium gas. clean your throttle body .. and as deep as you can into your manifold.. disconnect the battery for a while (3 hours) and then put it all back together and then the code might be gone..
I had the same code like a week ago.. did all of what i just said and the code went away..
its a LOT cheaper than 80 bucks... so its your call

Just a follow up I installed the new updated mass air meter and reset ecu. Have to give it a week or so to see if the code comes back. Paid $77.69 at local dealer he matched the best price I could find and had it in stock. If this takes care of my problem I will be very happy not hard to change and pretty cheap.
