I have an 02 GLE . Took a rock in the windshield and was just a little chip until the snow storm. I tuned the defroster on with snow and ice on the windshield and it cracked the whole thing.. Anyone have one replaced, if so how much $$ am I in for?? And anything to look out for when choosing one.

 

I had my insurance company pay for mine... Make sure the replacement winshield is the right one. There are 2 or more different ones. I have the auto dimming and compass mirror and the mounting point on the winshield is quite a bit larger than the normal one..... I made Safeway Auto Glass put a Nissan winshield in my car...

Same here, insurance took care of it. Try to get a Nissan OEM or a PPG windshield (if they have one) PPG always fit nice...as well as OEM.

 

Insurance should cover it with a zero dec. , since windshields are considered a structural member. They help support the roof in roll over accidents. Thus chips and crack lowers there strength.

 

my insurance doesnt cover it this happened on my 00' se and they came to my job and replaced it in an hr cost $130 just shop around for the best price if that is ur situation

 

insurance sould cover it as long as you have comprehensive coverage. a rock bounceing up is an "act of nature", as is an snow storm.
