is it worth the 6speed?

I dont think its worth it, if you really want to go fast, buy a "real" sports car thats manual.
But www.carvision.com does have some nice maxima's o2

If you relate 4th gen 5spd vs autos, there's more of a difference in straight line performance numbers and dynos.
When doing the same comparison with the 5.5g, the difference is not as significant.
So if your choice lies within this difference, it's not worth it.
That's my .02

I agree with these guys, the hassel is not worth it if your trading, but if your selling out right, and won't loose your ****, I would go with a 6 speed car any day. I almost held out for a 6 speed when I got my car, and some days I wish I had, but when I am stuck in traffic, i'm loving the auto for sure.
I would love to have an IS 300 with the manual transmission. Those cars are just so cool, and being RWD just makes is that much more fun to drive IMO. I also hear there is a lot of aftermarket parts for the IS300.

Only I know what I want, so I'd click on "used cars" then "research prices and specs" then I'd click "sedan." Then I'd scroll through the lists for midsize, large, and performance and pick the years I'd be interested in.
Why is this a difficult concept?

Do the pros outweigh the cons for you?

The difference in 6 speed vs auto, is dependant on how aggresivly you drive, and yea you know if your really nice with a manual, there is a great difference in what you can do. I probablly wouldn't change up personally, but if you love the car, and this is what you want, by all means go for it.
I'm not talking about drag racing (auto will probablly get a better launch usually anyways ... ), i know times are similar in either respect yet...
When your considering an aftermarket clutch and flywheel, options not available obviously to an auto, there are differences. a VB mod to an auto is nice... Yeti like controlling how hard the car shifts, it gets annoying when the car shifts hard all the time. I like having the ability to make my shifts as smooth or as aggressive as i want.
If you can shift very fast, the differences are noticable. Day to day driving, i wouldn't say there is much of a different.

Almost everyone has made good points already, so I don't anything more to say except I love my 6 speed... and if a trade wasn't too much of a hassle or financial burden, then just do it...

I have an auto, not complaining. I usually go with stick cuz it's fun to drive with but when I do a lot of stop and go traffic, auto is the ideal since changing gear in traffic is a pain and more wear and tear on the clutch but it's minor inconvience.
